Titusville, Pa's Robbie Blair scored his first ever TCS feature win with his victory in the 'Legends of the Ring' for the IRS Late Models. Blair grabbed the early race lead with Ricky Williams and Tim Dohm nipping at his heels. The wide 1/4 mile was worked heavily by the entire field, as every driver searched the high banks for a lane of their liking. Dohm bypassed Williams on lap 6 and immediately went to work on race leader Blair. Just as in past 3 weeks, the action was outstanding, with 3 & 4 wide racing the norm as the leaders soon started overtaking the back of the field making for some fantastic action for position.
Just behind the lead trio, Mike Balzano and Rick Aukland were dueling door to door, and Doug Dodd was clawing his way toward the leaders from his starting spot deep in the field. As the leaders worked lapped traffic, Dohm found an opening and grabbed the lead on lap 18. Blair retaliated with a banzai 4 wide move in traffic to retake the lead on lap 21, and the scramble for the top 5 positions ratcheted the pressure up with the additions of Jared Hawkins and Paul Wilmoth Jr to the lead pack. A 3rd and final caution bunched the cars for a final 14 lap charge to the pay window on lap 36.
Blair blasted the well manicured surface with Dohm hounding his every move, showing the race leader his nose every lap as the duo struggled for the lead. Balzano scooted past Williams on lap 37, and immediately challenged Dohm, but time and laps ran out for all. A relieved Blair scored a hard earned victory, a $5000 payday and parked his winning mount in the 'AT&T Victory Lane' at the end of a thrilling 50 lapper, as the Keystone State swept top honors in the twin bill. Blair was hounded every corner by race runner-up Tim Dohm, with Mike Balzano, Ricky Williams and Rick Aukland making up the top 5. Doug Dodd, Jared Hawkins, Paul Wilmoth Jr, Joe Loudin and Steve Shaver completed the top 10.
Paul Wilmoth Jr, Mike Balzano, Robbie Scott and Joe Loudin were the heat race winners, Ricky Williams won the dash and Butch McGill scored the B-main win.
Aukland did double duty and scored his second AMRA modified win in as many nights. Aukland hounded race leader Brian Probst, and when Probst jumped the cushion on lap 9, seized the opportunity to speed away for the win in the 'Sistersville Center Genesis Health Care' AMRA modified feature. Probst survived a late race heated 3 car battle to increased his point lead with a runner-up finish. Donnie Nething charged through the field to finish 3rd ahead of Thomas Sigler and Steve Higgins.
